QD: News Every Day--States and insurers still must be reckoned with


The American Medical Association claims from an online survey of 9,000 physicians who care for Medicare patients that 17% of doctors say they've been forced to limit the number of Medicare patients in their practice, and a third of primary care physicians have. The Ongoing threat of future cuts and already low reimbursement were the two major reasons. But when Congress reconvenes next week and if they pass yet another temporary reprieve, physicians also need to worry about cuts from states and from insurers. (AMA, bNet)
