While Caucasians continue to have the highest incidence rates for testicular cancer, Hispanics are seeing the fastest increase, according to a study.
A study at the 108th Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Urological Association highlighted results of data from 1992 to 2009 from the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results-13 registry, which covers approximately 14% of the U.S. population.
Hispanic men experienced the largest annual percentage increase of testicular germ cell tumors at 5.6% from 2002 to 2009. Overall rates were highest among Caucasian men (1992: 7.5/100,000; 2009: 8.6/100,000), followed by Hispanic men (1992: 4.0/100,000; 2009: 6.3/100,000) and lowest among African American men (1992: 0.7/100,000; 2009: 1.7/100,000).
